Hand-crafted by Mark Burdon in 2014, these instruments were custom-built in the style of Bourne Marimbas, whose designs set the standard for classroom music programs in the U.S. and around the world.

The set  includes four “Low-Rider” 2-octave sopranos (C-C),  four 3 .5 -octave  box resonator “Aussies” (C-G),  two 2-octave baritones (G-G), and two octave+ (C-D) Big Basses”. These beautiful  instruments are in excellent condition.

THIS COMPLETE SET IS OFFERED FOR $8,500.

Purchase of the complete set includes 12 marimbas, hand-crafted mallets, stools, platforms for the Big Basses, and a library books of music and arrangements for percussion ensemble perfectly suited to a classroom marimba program.  To purchase new, the instruments alone would cost over $24,000!

This set can accommodate a group of 26 mallateers each with a range of one octave. (Two can be seated on each soprano, three per Aussie, two per Baritone, and one per Big Bass.)

The instruments are local to the Pacific Northwest and shipping is not included.

ABOUT ME

I am a retired public school music educator and have had many years of delight teaching and playing with mallateers of all ages. I had a smashing time leading a marimba program at my elementary school and then embarked on my own community marimba program called Youth Marimba Workshop. I led summer marimba camps at the Edmonds Center For ther Arts , including a teen/senior camp which was featured on King5 Evening Magazine.
